New Year's Resolutions

Okay I normally don't make resolutions, but this year I am going to.  2010 was a big year for me and I know that I have a lot to face in 2011.  So here goes nothing:

1.  Run at least six races.
2.  Break a 30 minute 5k time.
3.  Do not get injured again this year.  Continue to work on my hip and its recovery.
4.  Meditate at least three times a week.  I'm still learning and working on this one!
5. Find balance between my work and personal life.
6.  Continue to work on those relationships that are meaningful to me.  Tell those around me I love them and how important they are.

Finally, please be safe this New Year's Eve!

Strategy Pants by MPG Sports

When I opened these pants up out of the packaging I was concerned.  They looked TINY.  I am a size 4-6, small and these pants were labeled small.  I slipped them on, with no trouble at all.  Before I go into how great these pants are for a run, I need to discuss what they look like.

I usually don’t go for slim fit pants or body hugging.  My hips aren’t my favorite body part if you know what I mean.  Well I don’t really have an explanation except that the fabric on these does just the right amount of holding and hugging, but I would happily wear these pants out to the store.  (As a matter of fact they are in the washing machine now and will get worn on a road trip I’m taking tomorrow.)

The pants are soft…I really have never had such soft workout wear.  They have a pocket on the side hip, perfect for a key or a gel.  They also have zippers on the back of the legs that allow you to cool off when you want, and to customize the fit.

Although they are not specifically a thermal pair of pants, they kept me warm on a 20-degree run.  They are indeed quick drying and moisture wicking.  Again, the price is reasonable.  These are on sale right now for $46.40.

Stay Warm This Winter with Sonnic 2 by MPG

Sonnic 2 Top

This thermal top is by far the softest I have ever put on.  It is soft and fleecy on the inside and smooth on the outside, thus giving you warm and slightly wind resistant at the same time. The beautiful blue color is unusual and eye catching. Again, this is a piece of workout gear that you’d be happy to stop for milk after while wearing.

I wore this top on a very cold day while I ran.  I loved the quarter zip on this top.  It kept me warm while I was cold and then I could unzip just enough when I got warmed up. (And when its all zipped up the zipper doesn’t scratch your chin.)  I also loved the thumbholes.  I had gloves on so I pulled them on over my gloves and they fit just fine.  I loved the fact that the arms didn’t ride up while I ran.  This top has reflective strips.  I would comfortably wear it on a road run.  It also has (my favorite) a zippered pocket on the arm.  I love that I can carry a key or a gel on my run, easily and comfortably.

This top is a great buy for the money.  Tops like it by Nike or Lululemon go for $80 or more.    (It’s currently on sale for $48).   My very favorite thing about this top is how SOFT it is.  That seems to be a trend for MPG’s clothes…

I would love to wear this top around the house just as much as I’d love to wear it for a run.

MPG Tops

Proxy 2 Top

This tank is black and very fitted.  Usually when I try on a fitted top like this I don’t like the way I look in it.  However, this one had designs on the front that hugged in just the right spots for it to be flattering.  The top had a built in sports bra which fit perfectly.  Sometimes the bras in these tops are either too big or too small.  The top was easy to get on and once I had it on the thing that struck me the most was how soft it was.  Workout clothes are not known for being the softest most comfortable clothes but I could easily wear this tank under a sweater or cardigan and 1.  It would be comfy and 2.  It would look cute.

I ran in the tank underneath a thermal top layer.  It rode up a little but I think that was due to the pouch I wearing on my waist to carry my cell phone and keys.  By the end of the run everything was still in place and the top was still comfy.  There was no chafing, and the top was still soft.  Its wicking properties kept my very dry.  When I arrived home, I didn’t want to change right away, I was that comfortable.  I would wear this tank under something all winter and alone in the summer.  While they have lots of colors, I love the black for its flattering appearance and for its versatility.

Lightening Top

I wore this top underneath a thermal top on my run today.  Again, it was so easy to put on and so soft.  The bra fit perfectly, and the top was really cute.  I love the contrast colors.  The top is really cute.  I would wear this on its own in the warmer months.  I’d pair it with a running skirt and very comfortably stop and run errands after going for a run.

The top was very comfy to run in.  It didn’t move or shift.  It rode up a little but again, I had on my phone pouch.  The bra was comfortable and sturdy enough for running.  The seams didn’t pinch and there was no chaffing.  The top has a zippered pocket in the back.  It’s just enough to hold a key.

During the winter, finding a pocket is no problem for me. However, in the summer, in small shorts and tanks, a pocket is hard to come by. I was thrilled to see the pocket in this tank.

Reflections

Christmas Eve is always a time of reflection for me.  This year has brought a lot of changes, good and bad in my life.  However, it has been a monumental year for me.  I have learned more and grown more than I feel I ever have before.  As the year progressed I felt like I was able to shed layers of myself.  I was able to "find my muchness".  It took a lot of pain and anguish for this to happen.

I have leaned to become more present.  I feel as if so many times we go through life in a haze.  We are so busy that we can't think straight.  We are busy preoccupied that we forget to tell those around us we love them.  How many times do you look back and you can't quickly remember what you had for lunch yesterday because you were in such a rush eating it?

I know that our jobs and lives are busier than ever, however, I also know that this makes our relationships that much more important.  At this time of year, it is even more important to take a step back and enjoy some time with your friends and family.

This Christmas Eve think back on your year and look into your heart.  Remember who brings you joy, remember what's important to you.  Reach out and tell someone you love them.  Reach out and say you are sorry for something that occurred this year.  Reach out and tell the person next to you how much they mean to you.  I have changed my whole perspective this year.  Through injury, relationships ending and a new career path starting, there have been a lot of tears and laughs...and every one of them has taught me something.  I'm ready for 2011 and all is will bring with it.

However, before then, I have some serious Christmas celebrating to do!
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Zensah means ahhh

When I first saw that Zensah made a running bra I was a little curious about how they would fit and feel.  Zensah makes compression wear, which usually means very tight.

I tried out the Zensah bra this morning on my run.  Usually my sports bras are terrible to get on...tight and difficult.  (And I'm not large chested.)  The Zensah bra slipped on very easily.  Once it was on, I didn't feel the usually pinch that my normal bra had.  I was interested in if it would feel supportive and as comfortable during my run.  It did.  I didn't have any pinching or rubbing while I ran.  The bra was supportive yet comfortable.

The bra was so comfortable that I ended up wearing it most of the day.  Usually I'm dying to get out of my sports bra the minute I walk in the door.  The bra was just as easy to take off as it was to put on.

The fabric of the bra is wicking and its SOFT.  I have a lot of Nike bras and even some ones from Lululemon.  However, I now only want to wear my Zensah bra and I'm hoping to purchase some more in the near future.

Zensah bras are not any more expensive than sports bras by other brands and they come in a variety of colors.  I received the baby blue, but I know I'm going to want some of the other colors too.

Take a peek at the photo of the bra I received and a photo of the bra on a model.

I will be reviewing more Zensah products at a later time.

Lock Laces

I have seen all sorts of lacing styles and laces.  You can see a few dozen styles when you head to a race.  I always tied my shoes using the "runners knot" and its worked pretty well.  However, when I first saw Lock Laces I was curious.  I was sent a pair and I put them on my road running shoes.  I was nervous about if they would loosen, if they would hold my shoes on my feet and if my shoes would be as comfortable.

I had nothing to worry about!  I took them out for a run this morning and did speed work.  They held perfectly!  My shoes were snug, but not tight.  Putting the shoes on to head out was quick and easy and made getting out the door a little bit faster.  In my morning fog I didn't have to get my laces just right.  When I got home, the shoes slipped right off and the laces didn't loosen at all.

I'm a big proponent of anything that saves time and energy and these laces do both.  I intend to put these on my casual sneakers and my trail shoes.

These laces are great for racers, triathletes, etc.  However, I think they will be most appreciated by the busy mom trying to squeeze in a workout.  I also know that they are great for kids who can't their shoes yet.  Special needs children and adults can also benefit from using these laces.

One of the best things about Lock Laces is that they are a feel good company.  They give back to the community, they are green and contract with a non-profit that provides job training for adults with developmental delays to assemble Lock Laces in the USA.  You can feel great about buying from them.

Their laces come in all sorts of colors.  You can get them in your child's favorite color, or to match your shoes.  Oh and for something like this you'd expect to pay a lot of money.  However, these are just $4.99+ shipping online and are available at select Foot Locker stores nationwide.

Visit their website to take a peek at the laces and the great work they are doing:

Chi Running

Everyone wants a little help in order to get running.  Its a common New Years Resolution to get moving, get fit and stay fit.  Well Chi Running is here to help.  The program is designed how to help you take the pain and injury (and work) out of running and give you the tools you need to ENJOY it!

Chi Running was designed by Danny Dreyer and he and his wife have books and DVDs on the topics of Chi Running and Chi Walking.  This summer I read Chi Running and I followed its instructions.  Although I felt awkward at first, I soon found my natural running posture and I was off.  All of a sudden I wasn't sore after my workouts.  I was ENJOYING running.  Instead of feeling
beat up after a run, I felt BETTER.  Who doesn't want that?

I've struggled with my asthma my whole life.  Its always hard for me to "forget about my breathing" and I envied those who could run for miles and not feel like they were dying.  By engaging the Chi Running principles, I was able to run without the feeling of being smothered.  I was able to breathe and I was thrilled.

I will admit, I over ran and I was injured this summer.  It was my own fault.  When I went to my physical therapist, he brought Chi Running back to my attention.  The principles he spoke to me about were those in Chi Running.  I reread the book and I was off and running (no pun intended) again.

I was recently sent the Chi Running DVD and I'm in love all over again.  The DVD is the perfect starting point.  If you don't have the time or patience to read a book, this is a a wonderful use of an hour's time.  The DVD goes over the principles of Chi Running, then takes you into lessons to teach you the principles.  Each lesson is clearly stated and taught by discussing the principle, then getting into the mechanics of it, then reviewing the principle. There are visual displays during each lesson.

While the book was awesome, I love the DVD and I think that
its a wonderful compliment to the book.  Reading the book and then
watching the DVD solidifies the principles, gives you a visual and is fun to watch.  For someone like me who has read the book multiple times, the DVD is a great refresher.

If you are looking for a great starting point to start a workout routine, start with Chi Running or Chi Walking.  If you are looking to give someone you love a little inspiration, this is a great gift.

Chi Running uses the principles of Tai Chi.  Its about finding your balance, your strength and tapping into your inner energy.  Until I started with Chi Running, I was ignorant to the positive effects of becoming aware and present.

Give Chi Running and I promise you will enjoy running even more than you do now.  If you're a beginner, you are going to want to hit the roads before the DVD is even over!

Winter in New England

One of the problems are running in New England in the winter is all the laundry it creates.  In the summer, I have a pair of shorts, a tank and some socks to wash after every run...
Now I have at least one pair of pants, sometimes two, a tank, a long sleeve top and a fleece top, hats, gloves, and socks....it all adds up.

I'm doing laundry every two days now in order to keep up and since it all can't be dried, my office looks like this most of the time.

I'm not complaining.  I love my running clothes and I love running, however, its funny to walk by this room in the middle of the night...all the racks and clothes look like haggard ghosts.
It also makes me grateful for spring and summer when a lot of clothes aren't necessary.  Laundry during those months is going to seem like a breeze!

Christmas Surprise

Today I received a present from one of the sweetest families I have ever met.  And I love the present...but its what it represents means more.  There are beautiful people out there in the world and you just have to keep your mind and eyes open for them.  You never know where you will meet them and how they will become a part of your life.  This holiday season, tell those you love how you feel about them.  Surprise someone.  Bring a little joy to someone who isn't expecting it.  That's what the holidays are all about.

Sale Gear

I will admit, I love my running clothes.  I'd live in them all the time if it were acceptable.  So I love finding a great deal on running clothes.  They are usually so pricey and finding a sale can be tough.  I recently had to get rid of some tanks, layering pieces and sports bras because they were just "too loved".  So while I believe that technical gear is worth every penny, I do also believe that you can grab some great deals if you pay attention to when and where to shop.

My first tip is to sign up for some online mailing lists.  Often stores will send you discount codes or free shipping codes.  Pick carefully as you don't want to fill up your in box!  I receive email updates from Dick's Sporting goods so I know when my favorite brands are on sale.

Shop at stores that ship for free.  Some even have free returns as well.  Some of my favorites are Zappos.com and RunningWarehouse.com

Visit outlet stores.  Lots of athletic brands have their own outlet stores now...just to name a few, Under Armour, Nike and North Face.  Take a peek at the clearance rack at these stores.  (On my most recent trip to a Nike store I visited the clearance rack and found this gem for $6.) Before you visit an outlet store make sure you know what you are looking for and make sure you know how much it costs.  Some outlets have items made specifically for them and these options are not much cheaper than the retail versions.

Shop at the end of the season for the best deals.  At the end of winter, the winter running clothes will be on sale, likewise spring/summer clothes.  Often some colors or sizes will be on sale while others are not. Browse so you can get the best deals.

If there is an item in your running wardrobe that you love, but its expensive, Google it.  Chances are you may find it online less expensive than you can find it in the stores.

So while it takes the most time, getting the best bargains means browsing online and in stores.  However, eventually you will find a few go to brands that you love to run in and to wear.

Stocking Stuffers

My husband and I do a stocking stuffer for each of the 12 days of Christmas (the commercial 12 days not the religious 12 days.)  The past few days he's given me some gifts to prove that he is indeed the world's sweetest husband,

The first one is here:

Its an ornament he made on Cafe Press.  Each year we get an ornament (or a few) that signify something that happened that year.  My husband had his first paid photography gig so I got him a camera ornament.  I looked for a running ornament but it was shockingly hard to find one.  So I gave up....but clearly this one is MUCH better than anything I would have found.

The second stocking stuffer is here:

Its a shadow box with my race numbers.

I'm not fast, I am not a fierce competitor....but I love running.  My husband supports me in this and that means the world to me.

Safety First

Well I'm not sure if its because I'm getting older and wiser or I'm just over thinking things, but lately I've been really concerned with safety while I'm running.  So I figured I'd go over a few of the things I use while I run and hope to hear some of your ideas in return.

I always thread a whistle onto my iPod headphones.  That way I can grab it quickly if I need to.  I use one of the bright orange ones.  I figure that maybe it would be seen and someone might avoid me all together.
Secondly I carry my phone.  This has been a challenge as I have a Droid X, which is one of the large phones out there.  Recently I found the iFitness pouch (see separate review) and it fits my phone perfectly.

I wear it around my waist in the front.  I figure that getting my phone out of it from the front would be easier than the back in case of emergency.

The next item is not legal in every area so check with your local police, but if I'm in the woods, I carry pepper spray that fits around my hand.  It wasn't expensive and again I hope I never have to use it.  I think that sometimes things like this will deter someone from attacking you.  They will go for the person without the pepper spray.  If you are going to carry something like this, make sure you are comfortable opening it and using it!
I also have Road IDs on both sets of my running shoes.  They look silly, but if nothing else they bring me peace of mind.  The company also offers bracelets, flashers and all sorts of other safety equipment.

Finally, I think the biggest things you can do to protect yourself don't have to do with gear.  Run in places you know and feel safe.  Run with a partner and don't run after dark.  Make eye contact with those you pass and make sure you can hear what is going on around you.  Finally, make sure someone knows where you are and when you should be back.

Run Safe!

Christmas Wish List

Well its that time of year again and everyone is looking for "the perfect gift".  Since I'm a professional organizer, the whole gift giving process freaks me out a little.  After all, we all have too much stuff in our homes already, and we're going to make a big production of giving each other MORE stuff?  However, I can get behind the idea of giving each other gifts we'd love to receive and get.  Now, that's where this all gets tricky, as everyone's idea of the perfect gift is a little different.   And so I'm here to give you a few ideas for the runner in your life, the person looking to get organized, and a combination of both (who CAN"T use a little more free time to workout and enjoy themselves?)

1.  The first gift on my list is spices.  I love Penzeys spices.  They can be ordered online or you can visit one of their stores.  Their spices are fresh and tasty.  I live giving them as gifts because they are consumable, everyone uses spices and they can really help a cook create fresh healthy family meals.
Check them out here:
http://www.penzeys.com/

2.  Banana Blossom Press  They offer a range of cards and tees for all types of athletes.  Their slogans are cute, their tee shirts are stylish and COMFY.  Any runner or yogi would love to get one of these as a present!  http://www.bananablossompress.com/

3. My next item is something I've very recently fallen in love with.  My husband has had one for years and I've always teased him about it.  Its the Garmin Forerunner 305.  It tracks calories, distance, pace and a lot of other vital items.  This can really help you get, and stay motivated.  Once upon a time they were quite expensive, but have since come down considerably.  Here is a link to one at Amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-Forerunner-Receiver-Monitor-Bilingual/dp/B000E3XPYQ

4.  My next gift idea is also from Amazon.com.  Its the Kindle.  Nothing cuts down on clutter more than the ability to buy and read books digitally.  I love reading and often am involved in a fiction book, non fiction book and text book all at the same time.  The Kindle allows me to read all three without the bulk. And when I'm done with a book, I don't have to find a place on the book shelf for it!
http://www.amazon.com/Kindle-Amazons-Original-Wireless-generation/dp/B000FI73MA

5.  If you live in a colder climate winter brings with it the need to bundle up in what are usually unattractive clothes.  Well Bondi Band changes that.  Their pony tail and pig tail hats are functional, warm AND adorable!  I recently wore one at a race and got a lot of compliments!  Check them out here:
http://www.bondiband.com/

6.  Buying for the woman who loves shoes?  Try Sanuk this year.  They are cute, comfy and worth every penny.  They come in lots of colors and varieties too!  My favorites are the "I'm Game" series.  In season animal prints with none of the guilt!  Check them out here:
http://www.sanuk.com/

7.  We all have to drink water.  And most of us don't do it enough.  One of the excuses I use a lot os that the water bottles are too much of a pain to carry all day.  Platypus has fixed that.  Their water bottles weigh next to nothing and when you've done with them, they roll up and can fit into your purse, pocket, you name it.
8.  I'm sure Apple doesn't need any plugging from me, but I converted from a larger running iPod this past summer to a Shuffle.  I love it.  Its light weight, easy to carry and the controllable headphones make muting my music and changing between songs a breeze, even in the middle of a race.  I love iPods for everyone as a gift.  Load it with music before you give it and its an even more thoughtful present.
http://www.apple.com/ipodshuffle/

9.  Everyone loves to travel.  So give someone you love the gift of a weekend away.  Plan the weekend out with a hotel stay and at least one planned meal.  It doesn't have to be fancy, just fun.  I rarely take time off and when I do, I usually micromanage the plans.  I'd love to have a weekend away planned out for me!  Even if its the next town over, leaving home and work can be a big relief and recharger.

10.  My last item is my best friend and worst enemy.  Its the foam roller.  These come in all sorts of color and sizes, so you can pick one that's right for you.  Mine is seen below and although it looks cute, its evil.  It hurts like heck to use, but you feel so good after its worth it.  Mine got me through a pretty bad injury this past summer.  Through using this roller I was able to avoid surgery.  They are great for anyone who works out, yogis, runners, gym rats....And, as a bonus, they are fun to watch others use.

Happy Shopping!

Peekaboos!

I was sent a hat from Peekaboos.  When it arrived it was wrapped in cute tissue paper with a magnet and some cards.  Once I got it open, I was even more attracted to the hat.  It was soft and cute.  I knew right away it was going to be comfortable.

When I put it on I was even more in love.  Its form fitting, but not tight.  The part of the hat that fits around your forehead has a soft fleece lining on it, making it even softer and comfier.

And the best part is the ponytail hole!  I have long hair and often when I am out for the day, walking around the city, my hair is down right unruly.  This time, I pulled it back through the ponytail hole and it stayed there all day.  The nice thing was when I went inside and took the hat off, I didn't have that usual nasty case of hat hair.

I love the hat and the design.  I'm not in love with the color but they have 18 to chose from so you can find the one that's right for you!  Take a peek at the photo of me wearing the hat in NYC on Thanksgiving Eve.

It takes a lot for a hat to be warm AND comfortable all day in NYC and this one fit the bill.  As they say, if it can make it in NYC, it can make it anywhere.

Fuel Belt Discount!!!

Friends and Running

I'm an entrepreneur.  I am self employed and many of my days are worked from home, in the quiet and without a water cooler and co-workers to chat with.  That sounds heavenly for many of you I'm sure, but I will tell you, while I don't miss anything about working in Corporate America, I do miss the people.
And so I'm always looking for something fun to do with other self employed people.

A lot has changed in my life this year.  I've grown and changed, like we all do.  Some of the relationships in my life that we very important to me at the start of the year, are no longer part of my life at all.  And I do feel this is a good time of year to assess who is a part of your life, why they are and if the relationship is still healthy.  This can be true of people, things, and jobs.  Is what you have around you making your life better, every day?

While we all have bad days, we generally have a good idea of who and what brings us joy and who and what makes us unhappy, stressed out, angry or sad.  Sometimes the answers aren't easy.  I had to walk away from some relationships this year.  I once considered these people some of my best friends, but when I took a step back I realized that I was doing all the work in these relationships, I was doing all of the giving and getting nothing in return.  So I walked away, and while it hurt at first, it was better in the long run.

So why am I telling you all of this?  Because I was able to find the strength to get rid of these toxic relationships through running.  I was able to find myself in my trail runs this summer.  I have made new friends through running.  I have become part of a community.  I'm not fast or competitive, but I love running and I've been able to connect to others who do as well.  And because of this, my life has been made better.

Banana Blossom Press

When I first heard about Banana Blossom Press I was skeptical.  Someone told me about their cute wares and I thought that I'd have to see for myself.  After all, cute slogans on tee shirts are a dime a dozen these days.  Well I am in love.

Banana Blossom Press sent me their No Run=Cranky and Moody tee.  For anyone who knows me personally, this is completely true. That's what makes this so funny and cute.

When the tee arrived I was thrilled to see it was American Apparel. Their tees are cut for a woman and are very flattering.  The best part about them is they are SOFT!   I put this tee on at about seven am this morning and its now almost midnight.  And its comfy and I could even wear it to bed if I so chose.  The color is flattering and the writing on it isn't sticky like some tee shirt companies are.

Although I'm in love with this tee and will be getting some as gifts, I am also in love with their line of cards geared towards yogis, runners and everyone who loves getting out there and playing hard.  Cards are for any occasion but are specific to sports.  You can even get a card for ITBand Syndrome!  I hurt mine this summer and would have loved a card from someone understanding what I was going through!

Their prices are very reasonable, currently the tee sells for $20.  Visit their website here to see their complete selection of tees and cards:

I know I will be placing an order!

Hair Streamer

Because I have SO much free time on my hands (anyone who knows me knows this is a ridiculous statement), I've decided to try to find some fun ways to make running a little cuter.  Today I made myself this hair streamer.  I'm not sure how it will work yet, but it was quick and easy to make and obviously, with different ribbon can be made in a variety of ways, colors and patterns.

Caffeinated Popcorn!

When I first heard about caffeinated popcorn I didn't know that to think.  I was sent a sample and I was almost afraid to try it....I am not a big caffeine person and I was afraid of what it would do....

So tonight curiosity got the best of me and I tried it.  I don't know how to put this except simply, its amazing.
Its sweet, salty, crunchy, and buttery all at the same time.  There is no taste to the caffeine.

I hike a lot and this would be the PERFECT hiking companion.  After hiking for a while its nice to have something sweet and crunchy and if it gives you energy for the hike back down, that's even better.

Bio Fuel is available in "regular" and "extra caffeine" and they even have a kids "decaf" version.
You can buy it on their website here:
http://www.biofuelfoods.com/

Its inexpensive, especially when compared to other specialty hiking and outdoor foods.  Its so yummy, its addicting!  You are going to want more!

I'm Game

Okay anyone who knows me knows that I love shoes.  While I don't feel like I have a lot, I get teased by friends and family about all of my footwear.  In particular, the quantity of my flip flops.  I do love them.  They are cute, easy and comfy.

When I heard about Sanuks and their motto that they "are not shoes" they are actually sandals in disguise, I was very curious.  Sanuk sent me a pair of their women's shoes, the "I'm Game" model.

First of all when they arrived, they did so in a biodegradable bag.  Who doesn't love that environmentalism?  Instead of having to recycle a bulky shoe box this bag can be used to dispose of kitchen waste and then just thrown into the trash.  I use a juicer and I'm going to use it to line the waste tank.

The shows also come on this cool hanger.  It allows you to hang the shoes in your closet!  How cool is that?  I actually hung the shoes on my coat rack by the door until I was ready to wear them.

Okay, now on to the shoes.  I will admit I was skeptical that they would be comfy all day and they would provide me with the support I need as I'm recovering from a hip injury.  Well I left the house feeling like I was floating on little pillows of air.  I spent the rest of the day not thinking about my shoes.  For me, that's big.  I am notoriously uncomfortable after wearing a pair of shoes for a while.  I wore the shoes with jeans and with socks.  I'm pretty sure you could go sock less in these and still be comfy.  I would also wear these with shorts in the summer.

I love the comfort level that these offer!  They are cute and comfy, which is a rarity in shoes these days.  They also offer the ability to "throw them on and go", something I think is so important for busy people, including moms on the go.

Of course, they sell men's and kid's versions too.  They also sell sandals.
Check out their website for their seemingly endless and ever changing selection:

And, are you ready for the best part?  The sidewalk surfers, which the I'm Game is a part of, are mostly around $50!  So you get a great shoe, that's comfy, for a great price.  I dare you to try and beat that.
